Success for TOP Alumni

James N. Kryshak (06) Elizabeth Bachman reports about James:

“I recently met with tenor James Kryshak (Jim), who was making his debut at the San Francisco Opera.  (See below.)  Jim came to TOP Opera in 2006, as a talented young tenor.  So talented, in fact, that we worried about his being gobbled up by the opera system too soon,  He followed TOP Voice Teacher Julia Faulkner to the University of Wisconsin, Madison.  He went from there to the Lyric Opera of Chicago’s young artist program and on to Glyndebourne, the Met and now sings at the Staatsoper in Vienna.
It has been such a delight to follow Jim as his career soars.  The other day he told us “TOP Opera was where I first realized what opera was about.  Suddenly I was singing a big Donizetti duet, a Mozart quartet and various other pieces. I had to buckle down and really get to work.  But I loved it.  I knew this was what I needed to do.”
This season he will be singing in Boris Godunov, Die Zauberflöte, Salome, Ariadne auf Naxos, and the Cunning Little Vixen (Das Schlaue Fuchslein).
Congratulations to J.Warren Mitchell (TOP 2011/2012/2014) won the Kammeroper Schloss Rheinsberg Competition for the summer 2015.
Congratulations to Zanda Svede (2012) who wowed the audiences at the San Francisco Opera’s Merola Program.  Only four of the Merola singers were chosen to join the SF Opera‘s prestigious Adler Fellowship.  Our Zanda is one of them.  Brava Diva!  We are so proud of you.
